    Smile Propranolol and heart rates

How low do your hearts go and what dosage are you on? my dosage has just been increased so I'm anxious about it going slow now, the lowest its been is 66. Would appreciate people telling me and maybe putting my mind at rest

I am on Bisoprolol and they want my heart rate down to 60 so I think you are ok at 66

I had a 24 hr ECG and my heart rate went as low as 45 bpm while sleeping and my doctor was not at all concerned. Mine tends to stay in the low 60s, it's nothing to worry about.

Are you on a normal release one? what I'm thinking is that its wearing off in between. You might be better with a slow release one, mention it to your doctor next time you see them. And also heart beats in the 90s are still normal .

    Grey

anything bteween 60 to 100 is the average for anyone not on meds obviously not doing exercise as your heart rate would go up.

    I think propranol lasts for about 12 hours. I take it 3 times a day 10mg-20mg-10mg .
it has meant to have two effects. One to lower blood pressure and one for anxiety to make you calmer then consequently your sitting heart rate should go down

Bjorn Borg was said to have had a resting heart rate of around 35 beats per minute, and it didn;t seem to do him much harm. Maybe take up tennis!
