Eeeek, big step - applied for a job!

I took a spur of the moment decision this afternoon, and have applied for a part-time job!!!

I literally just saw it, did the application and submitted it within an hour and a half, so I had no time to sit here wondering about doing the right thing (I'll worry about that if I get an interview, lol).

It's vaguely related to my field (it's a customer facing role at a city heritage attraction), so I don't feel about it as I have felt about applying for other jobs (i.e. I'd only be doing it for the money) -- it could lead to other roles within the local heritage world, but even if it didn't at least I'd still be sharing our local heritage with other people, which is what I liked to do, and because it's part time I'd still have time to work on setting up my business

It's also the first job I've applied for where I've answered 'yes' to the disability thing, because since taking advice from MIND etc. about that type of question I actually feel more confident that answering honestly will help, not hinder in the long term. Let's hope I'm right!

Well done and good luck! Local heritage is fascinating (i've got a history and archaeology degree) and i'm sure if you get the job you'll be constantly bombarded with exciting possibilities.

That's brilliant... Not only applying for the job, but also not worrying about things until they happen .... But also ticking the box about disability. A hat-trick of achievements, you deserve today's prize for today's "spur of the moment achievement for the day". Here is your trophy......

Yay! Well done and good luck to you! The fact you didn't think about it is a good one - i did the same with the librarian position and i haven't looked back (though did lots of thinking at interview and offer stage!). I'll cross my fingers and toes for you.
