Starting Sertraline Today

Well folks I have given in and gone back on the old medication!

I have started on 50mg Sertraline (Zoloft). I took my first one this morning. I have felt quite sick and had diahorrea already!

I have also felt quite jittery and almost high. Spoke to the Doc who has told me to persevere as the benefits will hopefully out weight the side effects.

On the whole the just the decision to start taking them has made me feel much better (I was prescribed them weeks ago!)

Anyone else had any dodgy side effects first few days? If so how long to they tend to last?

I must admit, my bowles have changed since taking them and another side effect was frequent urination, which has got better over the last few days.

I used to be on Citalopram for a while and I had the frequent urination thing with that. It didn't bother me in the day but it was irritating at night!

Loose bowels usually a few hours after eating!

I started 50mg of Sertaline on Tuesday ( tapered off Citalopram after 12 years) and I'm feeling like a space cadet. I also started Pregabalin, so it's hard to determine what side effect is related to which medication. It's a bloody minefield .

Well today is day two and so far so good although the side effects had not kicked in by this point yesterday! I have had more loose bowels last night so have taken some immodium (on the advice of my Doc) so am hoping it will calm it down!

Loose bowels are calming down a bit for me now.

Hey Fred Speed. Stick with the meds. It can be tough because it can take a while to start working as we all know on here!

I was on Citalopram 10mg just as a maintenance dose for a while. Came off it cold turkey before xmas (stupid - but didn't think I needed it anymore) I wish I'd stayed on it now! I think I am accepting that I may always need to be on anti-depressant meds. I didn't realise how happy I was until my panic and anxiety restarted these lat 4ish weeks
