Had a bit of a set back

    Hi All
After starting to feel better for a couple of weeks (have been off work with depresssion/anxiety for 7 weeks) something happened last week to worry me and it sent me on a downhill spiral. I feel really rubbish and although not as bad as I was at first the awful shaky feelings, pessamistic outlook, low mood and paranoia are back.

I told my GP at last visit that I was feeling better so he lowered my diazepam and sleeping tablets. But now I just feel really rubbish and can't see me getting better.

I am fed up of burdening my family and lovely husband with my misery. I just want a hug and for everything to be back to normal How I wish I had apppreciated my life more before this all happened.

ahhh take your time, rest & don't be to hard on yourself,

I often wish I'd have done things or cared about things, people & myself more before I became a panic victim too. I also , like you, feel I will never get better. Even on good days & when I'm upbeat , I still can feel the GAD etc hovering! It's like a dodggy switch , that will not , turn off, I can make it switch of but only momentarily.

    Hi Pigeon

    for you

I know exactly where you are; after going back to work on phased return last week I feel worse than I have done for some weeks - not quite back to square 1 but not far off. I am sitting here trying to steel myself for today which starts for me at 12pm.

As Col says, be kind to yourself Pigeon. Give yourself that time to rest and remember that you wouldn't be beating yourself up if you were recovering from cancer and that this is an illness just the same. You need time and love which it sounds as though you're getting from your family and husband. I do understand though, I feel a burden too and wish I could just give myself a good kick up the backside and get back to who I was before all this happened.

Look after yourself and remember you are not alone xx
