hi omg why does there have to be such a thing as ibs i wouldn`t wish it on anyone,i`ve suffered about 20 yrs and suffer with terrible anxiety,my doc has put me on diazepam for that and i take mebeverine for ibs but not much good,my bowels get so tense i just cant let go,does anyone else have this?

Try massaging your tummy, a hot water bottle or peppermint tea. These things usually help to ease spasms and soothe the pain for me.

Prue,

For me, I find the more I focus on it and worry, the worse it gets. I try to do something engaging in the mornings when it's worse, such as reading the paper or playing a game on my phone. Sounds simplistic and I know it won't work for everyone but it helps me.
