Increased dosage

Hi All!

Hope you are doing well on this Tuesday. I just saw my GP after a rough anxiety filled weekend and he recommended that I increase my dose from 20mg to 40mg to help me calm down. Did anyone feel the side effects again from an increase? Im worried to increase the dose as I feel like its admitting defeat!

Hi, sorry to hear you've had a rough weekend. I did too despite it being mothers day!
I recently had to increase my meds from 20 to 30 as they were no longer doing the job at that level. I found it easier to do by spacing the dose as evenly as possible throughout the day. So for me, I took 20mg in the morning and 20mg in the evening on one day, then just 20mg mid-afternoon on the next day. I started off by taking both 20mg tabs at the same time on day one and I became incredibly anxious.
Has your doctor given you any advice about how to manage the increase?

He just told me to take them in the morning. No other instructions.

Well maybe it doesn't really matter, as any increase takes a while to get into your system. However from personal experience, and from what others on this site have said, you do tend to get side effects with an increase, but this just shows that it's starting to work.
