I had a blood test done the other day and the women doing it didn't wear gloves or clean my arm before hand, is this normal? I'm worried because I've had loads of blood tests done in the past and they've all used gloves. I'm now panicking if she actually used a clean needle I know I probably sound stupid but I cringe when it comes to needles and blood anyway :(

I have never had my arm cleaned and the nurse never wears gloves eithers.

They absolutely would have used a clean needle - you don't need to worry about that. I don't remember nurses wearing gloves when I've had blood tests.
