Escitalopram - anyone had these?

Hi all, I've been posting around the forum for a while now with my battle about whether or not I should take medication. I've suffered anxiety for 5-6 years now and do believe I need to try medication but I'm terrified after reading up about side effects etc and other peoples stories. I've been prescribed Fluoxetine last year but feel really negative about it (it's been stuck in my draw all this time) I don't know, it just makes me feel anxious so I thought about maybe asking for Citalopram but still don't feel 100% about this one either. I was researching over the weekend and stumbled across Escitalopram, I wasn't aware of this and didn't know there were two forms of Citalopram. From what I've read Escitalopram is a purer form of Cit with less side effects and after reading up on it I'm feeling so possitive about it! Almost excited! I just wanted to see if there was anyone who had tried it?

I'm on Escitalopram now. Infact... there's a whole thread on Escitalopram on this website!

I was on Citalopram for 11 years with no problems. I stopped and came back on it and it absolutely destroyed me so moved to Escitalopram and it's much kinder and nicer.

Doctors will first put you on either Fluoxetine or Citalopram because these are VERY CHEAP drugs!

Unfortunately they don't have us in mind when they prescribe drugs.

Go have a look on the Escitalopram thread on this forum! In a lot of peoples opinions, it's a much nicer medication!
