    Blushing/flushing

Does anyone know if changing your diet affects your likelihood of blushing?
I feel I will blush easily and sometimes just feel flushed for long periods. Where as some people seem to never flush or even look like they're are going to. Although I think of if you know someone long enough they will get embarrassed in one way or another at some time. No one is a completely confident at all times.
I assume alcohol and tea and coffee contribute to flushed skin and maybe hot foods.
I have seen people who only eat raw foods and their skin does seem clear.
Is a raw food diet the answer?

    Anyone have any thoughts?

I think drinking lots of water can help to stop feeling flushed.

No diet will help, there is no solution, as long as i know, blushing has nothing to do with any food, alcohol and spicy food may cause redness on face, so reducing this would be good idea but apart of this i dont know,

    Hi Anna

    Thanks for your reply.
I am going to have to look further in to this....
At the very least feeling better from having a good diet will be a benefit. I do feel better when less tired.
What is the secret? On Friday I was at work and was in a few situations where I didn't blush, situations which on other days I could/have done. I wish I knew why sometimes I do and other days I don't.

    Hi Eamon,
I wish to know how to control it, but it just happens without any particular reason. I feel better when im tired, for example after yoga classes i just go home by train and i dont care if im red on face or not. i think im more severe case than you, usually even eye contact with someone makes me blush,

    Re: Blushing/flushing

Eamon its more to do with your state of mind - I used to blush all the time:
    If someone looked at me.
when I realised I was the centre of attention.
If someone shouted or was loud close by.
If someone started calling me names.
And the obvious times, such as my mates teasing me in front of women I liked.
(It sometimes happened without me realising I was doing it)

Anyway, I've overcome it (not totally - I still go red) by making fun of it myself - When I laugh and take the p1ss out of myself for doing it then I am in control - If I'd have carried on worrying that I was blushing then I don't think I'd have overcome it as much as I have. You need to see it as something very insignificant - it doesn't harm anyone and friends have told me its quite endearing. I hope this helps - smile when you do it and explain to others that you have social anxieties - whats the worst that can happen?
    Good luck!
