Normal symptom of anxiety?

I've had anxiety and palpitations on and off for 10 years now. I get the missed beats, extra beats but 90% of the time I can feel my heartbeat. Its normal and regular, around 75bpm or so but why can I feel it? Im aware when it gets faster which obviously makes me more anxious.
I take propranolol, it was 80mg a day but Ive cut down now to 40mg a day and i feel it more now.
I am going to see my GP next week about all this because I've had it too long and its worrying me. Anyone have this, or is it abnormal?

i know exactly how you feel it terrifies me when i can hear my heartbeat even when it is slow I have had many tests and it all comes down to anxiety so no it isn't abnormal

I think being an anxiety sufferer you are more tuned in to your body and heart rate, I can feel my heart beat some of the time too and it is always due to anxiety
