    Hiya Jade

I STILL faint sometimes when I have blood tests etc.

The way ive learnt to be ok with it is to tell the person givng the injection and drink something while they are doing it. I find a full fat coke raises my blood sugar level enough to stop me feeling faint.

I remember having that test and my BCG at school and I felt so faint after that to stop me feeling so bad I skipped along the corridors singing my favourite song back to my class...lol Believe it, its TRUE...lol

I remember when we had ours the stories that went round were off huge needles and loads of pain. I was so scared but when it came to it it was nothing! Hardly even hurts.

Many years ago, when I was a classroom assistant in a special needs school.
I was asked to chat to a young girl who was due to have a Rubella Jab.
She was frightened and in a bit of a state.
I told her I wasn't going to lie to her and that it did hurt.
But the pain only lasted a few minutes, and it could save lots of complications as she got older.

I made a deal with her that if she went in to have the Jab I would have it too.
After a quick word with the nurse I was given a shot of fresh air, and I held the little girls hand and told her jokes while she had her Jab.

The rest of the kids seeing that I had had a Jab and not wanting to be shown as chickens couldn't wait to get in and get it done, to prove how tough they were.

Top tips to get you through the tough part.

    Take some deep breaths.

Remember, It is better a Jab in the arm than TB, so sooner it's done the sooner it's over and you never have to have it again.

Try not to look at what is going on with the needles and stuff, instead focus your attention on something else. (looking at posters on the wall for example.)Looking at the needles and things can make things worse.

Think of something funny, a joke, a tv programme anything.

Once it is over and done with treat yourself with something nice.

    Good Luck and Be Brave.

    Love, light and Best wishes
