    Zoloft

    Hi again,
As I said in my other post I had been taking Zoloft for about six months and stupidly stopped taking it to save money. I have started back on it. My doctor prescribed 50mg at bedtime. I found that 50mg was making me tired and took 25mg. Since starting it again I thought I might have better outcome if I took the 50mg. Was wondering if I could split the dose and take 25mg twice a day or should just take 50mg once a day and what time is best? I have searched the net and found that it says take the dose all at once. Any helpful hints?[?]

    Hiya grlnxdoor,

    Sorry no hints here.

Not very good at the medicine process myself.

I`m still trying to figure out the Effexor XR.

Just wanted to wish ya luck on the meds and tell you to keep us updated on how you are doing okay?

Here`s hoping the meds are working well for you.

    Take care.

I had the same problems when I first started taking it.

I was told to move my dose to a time when it was alright to be sleepy.
So I would take it at night time and by 11pm I ready for bed.
It is always better not to split the dose, unless you are told to.
    (For example 50mg - 3 x a day making the full dose 150mg)

Of course now I am used to it, it keeps me awake, so I take my 150mg in the morning.

Nothing is ever straightforward is it.

Thanks for the info. I am taking 50mg at bedtime.
I sleep through the night and still feel drowzy to mid afternoon the next day. I am hoping it is something I will get used to.

Once you get used to it, you may find it wakes you up rather than sends you to sleep.

I am going back to my MD tomorrow for my blood pressure problem. I thought about asking to change my Zoloft for something else.

    Hello,
I saw my MD today and was put on Toprol XL for my blood pressure. It was 140/100 today. I will start it tomorrow. 25mg of Toprol XL a day.
Also supposed to be good for migraines. I am staying with the Zoloft for now. I also love her scales they weigh 4 lbs less than mine at home.
    Thanks for all your advise!

    Oh that is excellent news.

Don't stop taking TOPROL-XL suddenly, because it could have serious side effects, so what ever you do, don't stop taking it to save money, talk to your doctor first.

I'm sure once that and the zoloft get to work you will be back to your old self in no time.
