Have been on Ven since last August...no problems here - but I do believe it is listed in the side effects...perhaps have a chat with your doc if you are having any problems that are worrying you.

I have never heard of urinary side effects on venlafaxine.
I've not experienced any problems but I know someone who had to come off it because they were having problems with peeing, ie. they couldn't. Is that what you mean?

Hi Pipkin, thanks for the reply. I had a prostate op last June & the results were really good, started taking Sertralin & the peeing probs started to increase, have now been on Venlafaxine for ten weeks & the not being able to empty the bladder feelings are more pronounced. The doc has put me on tabs to help but so far still the same. I started on 75 of venlafaxine & what a surprise I felt better in four days & after 5 weeks thought I WAS BACK TO NORMAL. But then started to feel anxious most days so upped the dose by on pill half extra in the morning & half extra at night. This too was okay for about two weeks, now feeling weird, weak, no energy,& anxious. I am thinking of upping to 150m & hope this works.
Any advice will be much appreciated.
Cheers for now
Larry
