Palps and Stomach acid - Useful tips?

    Hi,

Recently my missed beats/palps have been going a bit mad. I've also noticed that the acid in my stomach has been gurgling around more than usual and I've been burping a lot more too - I know this can upset the heart and cause more palps. So, I had a look on the internet for any ideas that may help ease this problem - and have now changed the way I eat my meals and it seems to have helped somewhat:

Eat smaller meals and eat more slowly (I always used to eat Really fast, shovelling the food in!)

Chew each mouthful 20 to 30 times - until the food has practically disintegrated in your mouth (I hardly ever used to chew my food much, mainly just wolfed it down!)

Don't drink with your meal - only take a few sips of water. If you drink a lot it can dilute the acid in your stomach and it will take longer for the food to be digested. Also, it may overfill the stomach and some of it's contents may leak back up into the oesophagus (I always used to drink loads of water with my meals!)

This hasn't cured me of my palps but I have noticed a difference in them (ie they're not as bad now around mealtimes) since I started eating this way.

    Hope this helps.

    Excellent post.

Another tip which has helped me a lot - eat mostly alkaline foods

    Hi Typer,

    Thanks for reply.

What types of food do you eat that are alkaline?
