    massage for anxiety

    Is there a particular form of massage that is more successful in reducing anxiety? I mean, if there is a choice between aromatherapy massage or swedish massage, is it the form of massage that's important, or would either stand a good chance of helping with anxiety?

    I am a holistic therapist and I would recommend aromatherapy massage for anxiety. It is the most relaxing and if you can find a good therapist who can mix a blend of oils to suit your needs it will be even more helpful. Swedish massage is slightly more intense and not as relaxing as aromatherapy.

    (Quite a few people who I give aromatherapy massage to fall asleep so that shows how relaxing it is!)

    Ayurvedic massage all the way - it is #amazeballs! I'd never even heard of it until about four months ago when I was treated to a full-body Abhyanga massage (oil-based) and oh my word, it was the most relaxing and thorough massage I have EVER experienced...and I've had a lot of massages and spa trips in my time!
