    self harm

a few weeks ago i started self harming again something i havent done for a few years.
my therapist says its anxiety making me want to this but i dont feel the need to self harm when i'm anxious only when i'm really depressed

she put my anxiety as severe and depression as mild but i think my depression is severe
the only thing that takes away the hurt is to self harm

sometimes i feel i'm going mad

    Hi Netty.

Only you know how you feel! Have you seen your GP since your latest symptoms presented? Therapists are not all knowing!

    Please go and seek help!

I am here for you in whatever capacity I can be

    Hugs to you

    Hi Net.

I used to self harm but haven't for about 5 months now. Its not a good thing to do and I look back on it now and think I can't believe I did that, at times I still want to do it when I feel really low but I manage to control it.

Am not sure what to say but you really must try and stop and do something else to release your anger/upset, people used to tell me that and I'd say I can't do anything else to release it, I still can't now really and I find it too hard to cry.

Perhaps you could try punching a pillow? Or writing how you feel down? Or maybe going for a quick run or screaming in the house or even ripping up pieces of paper? That may sound silly but it may work and would be better than self harming.

i havent done it for a week now and dont want to again

i did what you said scooby and wrote it down it took the immediate need to cut away so will continue to do that

i darent go back to gp as was told if i didnt see therapist i would end un in a psych hospital and dont want to do that

i think when i feel lonely that depresses me and i cut, so have now arranged things with people so i wont feel lonely

    thank you for your support

    Hi Net.

Am so glad that what I suggested helped, keep writing things down instead of self harming. Well done for not cutting.
