    Exclamation shadow on lung

    I wonder if anyone out there can help me my wife went for a chest xray and they have found a small shadow on her lung we are both worried sick I cant sleep and my anxietys through the roof has anyone had this and it turned out not to be cancer

    I have not had it Melvin. But I have worked as a nurse and we had patients where their-xrays showed shadows on the lungs or lung, and this came from old pneumonias-it was scar tissue after those you see in the picture.
    Quite harmless .... I hope and wish the best for you.

    thank for your reply I find I cant stop crying as my mind runs away with me trouble is she does smoke and she has all the signs I know I should not google but when you have anxiety you just look for answers they have said its not a chest infection
    we are waiting for a scan wich can take upto 2 weeks my wifes a lot stronger than me as she does not have anxiety
    I cant understand why this has not even registered in my head to pack up smokeing my self my wife has

    You could really show her support if you did it now. Please keep us posted. This is one time when being anxious is perfectly rational, remind yourself of that, and then try to focus on what your wife needs from you right now. Do normal things. go for coffee, have a walk, go to a film... xxx

    hi guys
    thank you for your replys we have spoken to the specialist this morn and he can confirm that after looking at the xray their is nothing to worry about thank god
    my wifes packed up smokeing and im off to green leaf on Monday but thank you for replying to my message

    just been lurking on boards as i am not sure how to post my son was unwell and sent for an xray showed a shadow in his lung next he had to go for a ct scan well we have just came back from the hospital results of ct scan clear hope this post helps others it was an infection he had just before exray
