Stopping cold turkey after 2 days?

    Hi All,

Currently on 10mg citalopram and 15mg mirtazapine.

Been on the mirtazapine for only 2 days but have decided that I absolutely hate it and don't have a huge amount of hope for the future on it due to the number of people who still experience major tiredness on it.

I'm still waiting for a call back from my GP - but can I stop taking this immediately? Or do I need to taper down even after only being on it for 2 days?

I hope you've heard back from your GP by now and he has been able to advise you. 15mg works mainly as night sedation and antihistamine so you should have no problems stopping after 2 days, I was told to stop taking it after 10 weeks without tapering (but I tapered it just to be safe). Any insomnia you experienced before taking it may return tonight
    Take care

Well that's good news. Maybe if the insomnia continues the doctor might find a better way of dealing with it.

I never did get a call back :-(

2 nights on mirt were just horrible...!
