Yeah. I found the experience rather odd. Not sure really if there is much science behind it. I don't think any trials have been done to show it's effective at all. What's your experience with them?

I`ve read the wikipedia entry, I found the concept interesting and then I downloaded some cd which I found online, on torrents. Well, it relaxed me a bit - or at least that was my impression, in the end though the sound became irritating.
Maybe I didn`t do it the right way, you are supposed to listen to it using headphones. or maybe the stuff which is online is not necessarily trustworthy.
How do you know there`s not much science behind it?

Yeah. It just made my ears feel funny. Like one was falling off. You are DEFINITELY supposed to listen with headphones though - the concept is useless if done by speakers.

I don't think there is much science behind either, although I haven't done much investigating into this one. It sounds like a "Ooh that's a cool phenomena, maybe it cures something" theory. Not a good basis for research.

    Yes.

Great way of getting into a deep meditative state very quickly.

    Not a cure though!

Infact after a chat with my old housemate about the subject, it's even more bonkers than I originally understood it to be. He's a sound engineer and he told me it uses frequencies that most headphones don't really pick up that well or at the correct levels.

I really just think that calming music is more useful.
