Taken with pregabalin, mirtazapine works well for me. Between the pair of them, intrusive anxiety is at a minimum and I sleep well. This has been the case for the past three years that I have been taking both, with no need to change dose (well, I'm taking the maximum, anyway) or loss of effectiveness.

Good luck with your first dose.

    Hello,

I am also in the pregabalin and mirtazapine club. Mirtazapine really got me out of a dark place when citalopram stopped working for me...I then started to take pregabalin along side it and the both have stabilised me for the past three years. I am on very low doses of both at the moment but (touch wood) no probs. I take 7.5mg or mirtazapine and only 50mg of pregabalin.

Hope it goes well for you.

I'm the opposite. I stopped Mirtrazapine for Prozac. I think you'll find that the Mirt is very good. I had a lot of benefit from it while I was on for the year and a half. Try to get the melt in the mouth ones from your pharmacy. They kick in almost immediately. Good luck on it.

I'm also in the pregabalin and mirtazapine club! I take 150mg of pregabalin and 15 mg of mirtazapine a day. Been on the Preg for 5 weeks and the mirt just over 3 weeks. GP wants me to taper off the pregablin as we believe the mirt has kicked in - took 3 weeks to take effect, but boy does mirt work! Sleeping 8 hours, appetitie back (have lost 22lbs since April), anxiety 90% gone and I've not hit peak benefit yet (6 weeks). No side effects for me either!

I've felt more like my oldself in the past few days than I have felt since my journey began (April). Mirt is a wonder pill for me so far!

Forgot to mention, previously tried citalopram and sertraline but they both sent my anxiety through the ceiling!

I was in the pregabalin and mirtazapine club, now I'm in the duloxetine and mirtazapine club.

From 2007 to 2012 I was on Mirtazapine only, at only 15mg, and it helped me sleep - insomnia was a big trigger for my anxiety.

So I found it really helpful, it was only last year that stress dictated that I needed extra medication, but for 5 years mirt on it's own was good, and it works well alongside SSRIs and SNRIs.
