clomipramine is it effective AD

hi i am going onto clomipramine next week would like to know peoples views and opinions, is it effective in combating depression, how long to work, side effects any info really blessings

I have only just started it too, I am on 25mg to increase to 150mg every 2 weeks. I can say that I have found an almost immediate effect on my symptoms of ocd and icd (trichtillomania and skin picking) however my anxiety is still thru the roof and I def feel spaced out and paranoid. Hope the side effects decrease as I get used to the drug as it is treating my symptoms well.
