    Dealing with OCD

Hi all :-) my names Megan
I suffer from OCD (I think)
I count my steps to make sure I walk an even amount and i have to make sure i eat an even amount.. basically anything i do it has to be even and if I don't I feel something bad will happen to my family which is really distressing :-( I myself find it very hard to talk about my OCD and my anxiety so that's why I'd never go into therapy.
Anyway if any of you would like a chat even about OCD I will listen :-)
    Lots of love xxxx

    Hi
    That's definitely OCD behaviour.
You should really look at therapy , I know too well how it can escalate ..
Did you watch the OCD camp programme on tv yesterday ?

    Re: Dealing with OCD

I've had it since I was around 15 but It fluctuates, sometimes I won't be able to sleep because I feel someone's going to get me if I forgot to count my food but some days I won't count my steps at all so I'm really not sure. I'm now 17 and I know times ticking but I'm a very awkward person so I don't know how I'd go about telling a doctor.. Yes I did watch it and the 'extreme' worried me as some of the people weren't as bad as how I am

    Re: Dealing with OCD

Could you try using some of the coping skills they showed them in the programme?
I've had OCD harm thoughts in the past..
Also checking doors, cooker knobs over and over, to make sure they're locked and off etc..

I've tried :-( it's not so bad if I ignore it when I'm with people it's when I'm on my own and if I didn't count my steps and I'm alone in bed I will start over thinking and worrying something will happen

Nothing bad will happen, but you know that deep down.
Try reading a book called brain lock. You can get it on amazon, and view some pages too,on it.
