Fluoxetine dose increase ?

Hi , I was taking 20 mg of fluoxetine with hardly any side effects I seem to be responding well but still not coping . My gp increased dose to 40 mg a few days ago and although I feel ok within myself and coping better or maybe having better days , my only side effect is I am now not sleeping properly and when I do fall asleep( ages after ) I am waking up every hour . Anybody else taking 40 mg had this ? I wonder if a sleeping tablet of some sort might help because I don't feel rested . I am wondering how long this mightgo on and if I should drop back to 20 mg ? Thanks for any help .

hi i tried increasing from 20-40 and i would wake in the early hours, was a tad anoying i have to say, i am on a different med now but i assume it will settle and you will go back to a normal sleep pattern blessings

I'm sure this is stating the obvious, but you're taking in early in the morning right? I find that if I take it pretty much as soon as I wake up, I'm fine by bedtime.

Thanks aggiecuttler and evolve for your replies , yes I take it early morning ive decided to lower dose back to 20 mgs as It isent agreeing with myself the higher dose .
