Just been prescribed Sertraline, side effects?

Hello,

My CPN has prescribed me 50mg Sertraline for my depression and anxiety. I wasn't given a patient booklet when I picked up my tablets, possibly a good thing really as I freak myself out over side effects. I have a deep fear of vomitting, have any of you vomitted from taking Sertraline? Or any other bad side effects? How long did it take you to feel any effect at all (good or bad)? Hours, days, weeks? I'm also on Pregabalin which have given me no side effects.

I'm really worried about taking these but my depression is getting the better of me lately

I'm on Sertraline and I only ever got a couple of little side effects when I first started taking it, the first few days.

It made my anxiety rise a little and I had a little bit of upset tummy, not sickness, I was never sick, but I did have loose bowel movements for a couple of days.

The side effects soon disappeared, getting better each day till they were gone

It's very difficult to give anyone a time scale as to when you might feel better though hun, as we're all very different. Some people notice them working in a few weeks and others it may be longer.

Give them a go, Sertraline is very helpful, I think it's the best anti-depressant that I've been on. It's also very good for anxiety

slight anxiety rise for a few weeks for me but i now have zero side effects and the tablets are doing the job
swallow them and try not to think about it
