on 100mgs and still got bad anxiety

i been on sert six weeks now and upped dose to 100mgs just over a week ago but still suffereing from bad anxiety i still seem to have more bad days then good had two good days last week but that was all seems like one step forward then to back so scared these tablets are not gonna work for me i saw my doctor a week ago who said everytime you up dose its like starting from scratch again and that you have to give it three weeks before u know if its working before upping dose again i really hope im not gonna get to maximum of 200 mgs and it still not work . im just so anxious all the time and would have thought it would dampen down the anxiety dont now what to do feel depressed

hi i have tried clompraine before but that made me really sick and paxil a few years ago but only took each tablet one time . I have heard you can take other drugs with sertraline to enhance it im hoping i wont have to do that or even try another type of drug as my doctor said stuff like prozac has more side effects im not sure what to do
