Panic Over Medication Review

I'm in a terrible state. I'm due for a medication review in a week and I'm petrified that they'll put me on all new stuff and that I'll have to start from the beginning again and suffer all the start up side effects.

My Seroqeul has been upped to 200mg twice daily and my Lyrica to 200mg twice daily too already and there is talk of me going on a combination of Olanzapine and Lithium. Surely they'll take me off some of the other medication before doing that.

I'm terrified. Dr. Kirrane's exact words on Tuesday were "There's 100's of medications we can try", referring to the mood storms. It's like they just don't know what to put me on.

Maybe explain to them that constantly changing medication is upsetting you. I understand what it's like to be messed about on medication, it makes you ill and it's unfair to let it happy time and time again. But remember that it's not worth being on the wrong medication either.

I honestly don't know what to do, but I highly believe that they still haven't found the right combination for me. It's like I'm a guinea pig for them and I'm fed up with it. Dr.Kirrane herself said that there's hundreds out there that they can try. That got me anxious that a change is in the works.

Hi that statement that 'theres 100's of meds to try' is not really helpful and I can see how it will make you fearful, realistically 100's should never be the case...

What are all the medications for? I have heard of some of them and are you still taking the Injection of clopixol.

I guess most of that medication is for Anxiety and try to keep your mood stable, as personality disorders are not usually able to be treated with medication?

I know there all labels, the mental illness labels and not always useful to the actual experience your having. Sorry I have more questions than answers for you!

Plus as you may or may not know it's quite normal to try different combinations of medications, as we are all different in body, mind and spirit so is the correct medication to treat us is. It has to be an individualized plan for each person.

That's what she said to me. I suspect I'm in for more changes.

I need the Clopixol injection along with the other meds. My moods are still not stable.

I have Borderline and Bipolar. I'm due to start Lithium in a few weeks. They can only change one thing at a time and are doing it slowly.
