    driving medical

well I hope you are all ok im back from a break from the site as it was reminding of booze way to much I cant remember the last time I had a drink but its a very very long time my mood has lifted and my anxiety has lestened big time ive been well now for quite some time won several golf tournements ,played cricket all summer and am now playing a lot of pool and golf.
now comes the snag ive just found out ive got to have a medical before I get my licence back plus blood test im not worried about the blood test coz they wont find any booze or illegal drugs,
the main problem I can see im gunna have to write down the prescription meds im on , diazepam 40 mg 4 x10 mg every 24 hours , 25 mg quitiapine x3 over 24 hours 150 mg slow release venlafaxine taken before bed, ive decreased some of the drugs and may well cut down more in the next month or so, as ive been on these drugs they don't make me feel drowsy or anything no one even knows im on them I just broke doe after playing golf yesterday as I played brilliant and I can see them sying no it costs 110 to do the medical,it says in the bvla website to ask your gp if your ready for the went to see him and he was useless basically sayinging its 50/50 and if they wrote to him he he wouldn't be able to say yes

    Hey Welcome back

Sounds like you are doing fantastically well since we last saw you...I am really pleased to hear how things have been going so well for you

Sorry I can't advise you on the driving license issue, only you can decide if it's time to take the chance. What a shame your doctor did not give you the recognition you deserve for all your hard work over the last few months. I hope it all works out well for you and that you get your license back.

All the best and keep us posted! Kitti xx

    Re: driving medical

I have droped my dose of diazepam by 10mg a day the less drugs im on whilst still feeling well will give me the best chance of passing the medical is there anyone on here that has passed the medical with a couple of meds for anxiety/depression a lot of my anxiety was health anxiety based as I had really high cholesterol and tryglicerides plus pancretitus leading to me worrying everyday there has to be someone on here whos been through this where they been through the process.
I was banned for drink driving that's why I have to take the medical but I cant remember the last time I had a drink

    Hi,
I'm really sorry to say this, but I'm almost certain it is illegal to drive whilst taking diazepam...no matter how little

    So sorry

    Re: driving medical

luckily this is not the case especially seen aS I was driving around on 60mg before, meeting with the pdoc went really well he couldn't believe the progress ive made and the fact that im reducing my tablets of my on accord when last year I was begging him not to take any tablets of me he said he has no problems with me driving at all and is happy to tell the independent dr im ready to drive again, so yeh it went well the only stumbling block is my gp whos says its impossible to tell when im ready, I may go and see him today and tell him what me and dr Clifford discussed, with dr Clifford being a mental health specialist im hoping that will override dr browns opinion what brown doesn't understand is there are millions of people out there driving around on more tablets than me or take for instance morphine patches as you no nothing makes u more drowsy than morphine also in my favour is that I havnt drank for well over a year and a half , I need dr brown to be as possotive as my pdoc im not paying 110 to be told no then wait another 6 months to re do the medical I just done my coarse to reduce my ban by 6 months that would then have been a complete waste of time im praying I pass,
mean while last night in front of a lot of my friends in my local one of my mates turned on me said most of the people in that section of the bar didn't like me anymore that made me feel great apparently I said to someone that he was downsizing his house as his business was struggling which is the biggest load of bollucks ive herd in my life so I said lets go outside and sort it out not fight just sort it out , he kept saying leave it leave it leave it, I thought no im not just leaving it but he just kept putting his hand in my face if I didn't have a criminal record I'd have kicked the shit out of him when he left he left me standing with my mates paranoid as to who likes me and who doesn't which was horrible and ive woke up feeling pretty rotten this morning was a horrible evening
