    BP monitoring & symptoms

a friend who is a nurse has been monitoring my BP over a week but not due to go back again for 1 week as she on holiday

anyways - i have started to get light headed, throbbing pains behind eyes and constant pain in chin

my bp ranges when she did it were between lowest 138/84 and highest 168/106 athough pulse has remained in high 60's - 70's

should i be worried or do u recommend bp tablets b4 i go as dr costs a fortune here

    Re: BP monitoring & symptoms

Blood pressure can spike due to anxiety, have you had her take a series of bp tests over a period of time? Anxiety can't keep your blood pressure high forever and after the initial spike it tends to come down. Make sure to practice your breathing exercises and wait a few minutes. If it remains high it's always best to talk with a doctor; who will provide at the least reassurance.
