Just do it anyway, and when you feel like crap just go and do it again. Let the anxiety pass every time it occurs.

Push yourself as hard as you can, face your fears over and over and you will overcome your Social Anxiety. It takes hard work, patience and strength to do this, but you CAN do it! In my experience, the symptoms of panic do reduce with repeated exposure.

I am in a similar situation. I am battling agoraphobia and I am desperate to get out there, see friends again, go shopping etc so I am learning to do exactly what your sig says. You have to get out there and experience the anxiety, accept the symptoms and things will get easier.
Read Claire Weekes, Self Help for your Nerves. I can't recommend it enough.
