first week on sertraline and feel crappy

Hi all

Ive just started my first week on Sertraline and iam suffering badly from insomania and loss of appetite.

Is there anything i can take to help me sleep?

Hi there

Like you I have started this week on sertraline. I started on 25mg on Saturday and last night I had the most awful sleep. Kept having really vivid dreams and kept waking up.

Does the insomnia go away after a while? As I dont think I can cope with having no sleep!

I wish I knew, the first couple of nights I was fine, but Monday and Last night were awlful, waking up with the most fearful feeling of dread, but nothing specific.

In the end, I listened to my "Mindfullness" relaxation CD and then had a bath and actually caught an hour of good sleep.

The warning on the box of NatraSleep suggests not to take if your depressed or on anti-depressendants, so anybody know of something we can safely take to help ?

I'm also on week one of 25mg. Also having issues with sleep... but it will pass. I took the meds a while back and they helped.
I'm not 100% sure but I saw someone mention Kalms? I'm in South Africa and don't think we get them here - so you'll have to make sure with someone who knows more about them.

Thanks for the suggestions, Benadryl seems to a medicine for hayfever allergy???

The appetite has come back a bit today and feeling slightly better so got fingers crossed for a decent night sleep.
