    Blood Test Results

Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum, this is my first post. This August I switched from a pediatrician to a regular doctor and upon having my physical as a new patient I had to have a routine blood test, the results of my first blood count were "normal" with the exception of my lymphocytes being at 44% when the range is from 20%-40%. I had to have another blood test in November, so yesterday I went back in and the results are as follows..
    WBC 5.3 K/uL (4.5 - 11.0)
    11/01/2013 07:08 RBC (H) 5.66 M/uL (4.50 - 5.50)
    11/01/2013 07:08 Hgb (H) 17.3 gm/dL (13.0 - 17.0)
    11/01/2013 07:08 Hct (H) 50.4 % (40.0 - 50.0)
    11/01/2013 07:08 MCV 89.0 fL (83.0 - 101.0)
    11/01/2013 07:08 MCH 30.5 pg (27.0 - 34.0)
    11/01/2013 07:08 MCHC 34.3 % (31.5 - 36.0)
    11/01/2013 07:08 RDW 12.1 % (11.5 - 14.5)
    11/01/2013 07:08 Platelet 205 K/uL (150 - 400)
    11/01/2013 07:08 Neut Abs Auto 2.1 K/uL (1.8 - 7.7)
    11/01/2013 07:08 Lymph Abs Auto 2.5 K/uL (1.0 - 4.8)
    11/01/2013 07:08 Mono Abs Auto 0.5 K/uL (0.2 - 1.0)
    11/01/2013 07:08 Eosin Abs Auto 0.1 K/uL (0.0 - 0.5)
    11/01/2013 07:08 Baso Abs Auto 0.1 K/uL (0.0 - 0.2)
    11/01/2013 07:08 Neut Auto 40 %
    11/01/2013 07:08 Lymph Auto 48 %
    11/01/2013 07:08 Mono Auto 9 %
    11/01/2013 07:08 Eosin Auto 2 %
    11/01/2013 07:08 Baso Auto 1 %

sorry for the spacing issue. I'm just worried because my lymphocytes are now at 48% and I know that a high lymphocyte count could be a sign of Leukemia. I have an appointment to meet with my doctor in 2 weeks and am going to drive myself crazy until then worrying about this. any advice or information anyone has would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    MGW

    Re: Blood Test Results

I had a blood work up done in Portugal a few years back. Beside the fact that it showed my thyroid was whack (and remains so) it also showed some anomaly relating to my white cell count. Turned out I had an underlying infection so ...

And for the record my brother has leukaemia. They didn't ask him to wait two weeks after his bloods, they hauled his ass straight into hospital and got on with determining what type, how bad etc etc. They don't wait about with these things, they move along and get you sorted.

All being well you will be fine

Your absolute lymphocyte count is well within range as are your total white blood count so you definitely do not have leukemia as these would be sky high.

Thanks for the replies, I was on Keflex for a cyst in my ear,but have been done with medication for 8 days prior to the blood test, and am on Lexapro for my "hypochondriac thoughts" ironic right? Would those cause the lymphocytes to increase? I know you guys aren't doctors but any info or advice is helpful

I'm not a doctor but there's nothing alarming there that I can see. If you want to freak, you should see mine! (post cancer treatment).... it's whacked!
