    Waiting On Results - worried

Well I had the blood test that was ordered by my GP after seeking advice from the blood specialist yesterday at 12:30, I'm worried about what this might show.

I don't know exactly what the tests were for either but its being done in relation to me having a high serum vitamin b12 on 2 different blood tests I have also had high MCHC on 3 different blood tests.

But from my "research" being the health anxiety maniac that I am, it seems that b12 is linked with blood cancers such as Leukemia.

I was told the results would be ready by wed/thurs does anyone know if they would contact me sooner or at all if there was indeed some problem?

    Hi Vigilante

From what I know about blood tests, no news is good news (same with X rays), I think it is just protocol to follow up on any anomalies although I have never had a blood test completely normal yet and the doctor's never seem worried, my B12 was low last time and I had a persistent cough (which I googled and it indicated lung cancer!). Totally freaked myself out. Went for an X ray and had to wait 10 days for the result, even though I saw them stop an elderly man who had just had an X ray and said that something had been seen and the doctor wanted to see him, so they obviously look straight away. Point is, be glad they haven't called you as that means it is going through the usual channels.

    Best of luck.

Just called the reception, 3 tests are back and normal no action, just waiting on 1 more so she said.

I don't know what blood test this is and obviously i'm worried its taken longer because this is a specialist test which will show cancer......

I recently had blood tests done including for tumour markers and they were back in a couple of days so hopefully that one will be back tomorrow.

I know how hard it is waiting for results, Im sure everything will be fine, good luck.

Nah, I have to get blood work done every 6 weeks and one or sometimes two of them is ALWAYS later than the others.

Some tests simply take longer to do. 'Twill be fine, don't worry

I recently had blood tests 3 results came back within two days and the other two took 9 days! It is common for one or two to take longer than the others.
