Need Opinions On MRI Photos!

Hi,

Recently I had an MRI. I've just been sent the photos, but I haven't yet been told what they mean. :(

Can anyone here please look at the photos and tell me if you see anything abnormal? It would be very much appreciated! I'm very anxious and nervous over all of this.

We are not qualified to look at MRI pictures at all.

You need to talk to the doctor that requested the test.

Right, I'm not looking for professional, definitive opinions, just thoughts from people who know enough to be able to see something abnormal. Ultimately I'm going to wait on word from my physician, but the wait is driving me crazy.

I would have no idea what to look for and I am pretty sure no-one else will either.

I was told I had a had a brain tumour from my MRI when I was admitted to hospital. I was admitted after seizures so I was told there and then- I have to agree with Nic, we're not physicians or doctors so I would say try and see your GP or speak with your neurology team or the people that ordered the MRI- I'm guessing if they haven't given you the results already that it's hopefully positive- also I've never had MRI scans sent to me although I know you can request them. I actually think it would be quite irresponsible for anyone to post their opinions on your MRIs, really, unless they're actually medically qualified. I mean, just because someone has seen an MRI before, it doesn't mean they know what to look for across the board. MRIs are pretty technical - not really designed for non-qualified people to interpret.

I am shocked you've been sent the photos with no explanations, that seems so bizarre and irresponsible to me. As people have said, no-one here is trained to spot abnormalities I'm a scan and what looks like something to me could just be a normal part of your brain (i haven't looked at the pictures so I'm not saying I've seen anything!). When are you seeing your doctor?

I've never, ever heard of the NHS giving you MRI scan pictures.

Unless things have changed?

I would have to agree with the general consensus here. It takes a specialised eye to interpret these results.

It is hard when you are worried, but I would wait to hear it from those who really know.
