Liquid sertraline in UK?

I'm currently on 33 mg of sertraline daily. I'm finding withdrawals really bad even in small 5mg tapers. It doesn't help that I'm using a Stanley knife to cut the pills so the daily dosage could be inconsistent - hence creating withdrawal. I asked my doctor if I could go on liquid sertraline (to help measure the dosage better)and she said it wasn't available in the uk. The thing is, i remember a thread a few years back where someone from the uk was on liquid sertraline. Is my doctor wrong? If not, can you buy it on the net?

I briefly tried sertraline earlier this year (didn't agree with me). I asked the doctor if he could prescribe the liquid, but he said that it cost a ridiculous amount (£180 a month I think) so it was out of the question. I am fairly sensitive to meds and take around a half to a quarter of a standard dose.

If you want to taper off it very slowly and carefully you could try a digital scale like this. It measures to within a milligram, allowing you to taper slowly. You can use a nail file and a pill cutter to cut your tablets down to size.

Cheers. Think ill try the scales. I can't believe the withdrawals from this stuff . Imagine a supply problem occurred with SSRI's - the mayhem that would be unleashed.
