    anyone had anal fissure?

I had one last year, caused by IBS and straining. I tried the ointments, which eased the discomfort but had to have a minor op to repair it. the op was ok, a bit scary as are all ops i guess, but i was fine after. But now its back, itchy and sore and very uncomfortable :(
    got the docs this afternoon.
anyone else had one of these?

Yeah I have had one but we had to let it heal on its own as I couldn't have the op for it.

Me too but I didn't have the op and the Rectogel that the consultant gave me gave me terrible headaches. Proctocydol ointment helped and I don't know if it has anything to do with it but since I started to bath in Epsom salts (for anxiety) I have never suffered from any more fissures or haemorrhoids.

I have medication for my ibs to help me 'go' so no more straining and suppositories.
