    thyroid

I picked up a book in the charioty shop called
"menopause without medicine" even tho i am 38 years old I have read about being perimenpausal.

Any way I have just read something intereting about thyroid problems and this is what it says.........

SELF HELP TEST FOR UNDERACTIVE THYROID AND BLOOD SUGAR.

a well respected doctor BRODA BARNES suggests that both hyploglycaemia and hypothyroidism can be diagnosed at home.
For hypoglycemia, sinple observation of symptoms is sufficiant.
To detect an underactive thyroid, take your basal body temprature (the temprature of your body at rest ) before getting up in the morning.
If it reads below 36.6 (97.8) there is reason to suspect a thyroid deficiency.
Repeat for three or 4 days to be certain of your reading.
make sure place the thermometer in your armpit.
Note : menstruating women take your temprature in the week of your period, since temprature is more subject to fluctuation during the remainder of the month.

    Hi Keef737,

An overactive thyroid, which i have, causes, weight loss, racing heart beat, shaking hands and legs, hunger, tiredness cause you are always on the go and just cant stop. i also had a rash on my chest and back.

Its best if you go and see your GP cause you really need to have a blood test for this.

I hope this helps, but also look up on google, Thyroid Disease, it will tell you about all the different kinds of thyroid problems.

    Love
