Obviously if you are going to consider withdrawing from Diazepam then you should talk to your doctor first.
Coming off Venlafaxine was a nasty experience for me and many others...... In my opinion it would be very wise to get settled on the citalopram before making any other changes.
6mg a day of diazepam isn't a big dose but taking it daily for quite a few months means you may have some dependence on it and may experience some side effects when coming off. With the help of your doctor you can taper slowly to avoid this.... going down to say 5.5 or 5mg for a few weeks, then 4mg for a while, 3mg...2mg... etc. Slow and steady as just quitting cold turkey is a bad idea.
Talk to your GP first and foremost as they must have been prescribing it to you!
Because I'm a nutter (not touched a benzo in about two weeks and even then it was 5mg chlordiazepoxide) I've spent a bit of time here poking around:

They seem to provide some very specific support as much as I'm reticent to draw people away from NMP. GP should be first call though.
Don't forget you've been through a lot Tristan. Don't be hard on yourself. The amount of people tonight who will be going out papering over the cracks with alcohol...
