I'm relapsing big time, now the confusion sits, go back on Mirtazapine or try Wellbutrin.?

So sorry to hear you are doing poorly again! I would give the doctor a call. At the risk of sticking my nose in, may I suggest you ask for a trial with venlaxafine, the name brand if you can get it? I take Effexor XR, titrated up from 37.5 first week to 75 mg. therafter. It can be titrated again weekly once you have become used to the effects. You know of course that all drugs have side effects, but these are by no means the worst. Constipation, a little nausea (eat first and then take the capsule). Eat frequently throughout the day. Dry mouth of course. Maybe some tight muscles for a few weeks, some head fog but that can be calming Effexor is an SNRI, which means it also helps not only with serotonin but with norephinephrine and to a lesser extent dopamine. It can be titrated quite high with no adverse effects and you can stay on it long-term. You know, our Aprilmoon is having great success with mirtazapine combined with effexor/venlaxafine. You will want to be on the Effexor for some months I believe before adding mirtazapine but that is up to your doctor. Please call, hunni. Let us know what's happening. We care, I promise!

The feedback from my GP was to get on the Wellbutrin xl 150 once daily for few days then he will decide to up it or keep it as it is.

So I went for it about 5 hours ago, now I am in a floating state, let's see how things go on.

I guess I should stop posting here since I am not on Mirt.

I looked up the medication forum and I couldn't find anything on Wellbutrin!

Hi, Dubai! Yes the floating and other side effects will be what happens for the next little while as the medication settles in. Try to appreciate the calm in the floating or foggyness, yes ...
I agree, there doesn't seem to be a category for Wellbutrin. It's generic name is buproprion. Maybe you could start a thread for Wellbutrin/buproprion and others will join with their thoughts.
