In my experience, for flying, Diazepam is usually given as it is longer acting. Alprazolam is shorter acting. Whether or not claustrophobia plays a part in which one is given, i dont know.
I have had diazepam before but it didn't seem to so much for my panic. I didn't have a panic attack but i was definitely on the verge of getting one. Maybe I didn't take enough?
Maybe so, only your GP can advise on whats best.
