breast lump waiting for clinic appointment - trying to keep calm

Hi

I have found a lump in my breast and have been to the doctors. They think it is probably a cyst but to make sure I have been referred to the breast clinic.
My appointment is Monday so until then I am trying to stay calm.

Any advice or words of wisdom would be really appreciated.

Good luck I am sure it will be OK. I am going to the gp for one breast being denser than the other tomorrow so I m sure I am going to referred. I have been before. You will see a dr and they will do an exam and then decide if you need an ultrasound which you probably will just because its better to be sure. They do that which is the same a pregnancy one an then if they find the lump decide if u need a biopsy. Everyone is very nice and whilst its worrying its not a horrible experience xx

Thanks was doing ok except a friend s turned out to be cancer, she is having surgery Friday. now I am having a world class panic. Trying to get a grip. Xx

I bet you are terrified, but it doesn't mean yours is. Its hard to keep perspective, but 90% of breast lumps are benign. How is your friend doing? As crazy as it sounds I am more anxious because the Dr seems so unconcerned but still wants to refer me. Its a horrid wait xx

One thing I am trying to say to myself is I don't want to consume my next few weeks with absolute dread if it turns out to be nothing its a negative energy and if it is bad what good will worry do it certainly wont change it. Not sure how well I will manage this philosophy, but I thnk my previous visit to the clinic helped me x

Thanks Sahara. She is coping really well. I have been trying to keep busy and not think, but I broke down and googled. Now I am seriously worried, but in an effort to stay positive I am off to see a friend for a good chat.
