Weird feeling on the roof of my mouth

Just lately when i've swallowed i can feel something on the roof of my mouth it's on the top left hand side. I just tried to feel it and it feels like rough skin or something like that. It doesn't hurt and it's not tender it just a weird sensation and i just wanted to know what it is.

Does it look like a white patch?

I used to get this weird rough feeling at the back of my mouth I could feel when I swallowed. Don't know what it was but I always saw it as a sign I should buy a new toothbrush! Always went away with a fresh toothbrush so I guess it was some kind of infection or something.

Could be where you've eaten something spicy, sour or hot. As for the tonsil, Fishmanpa has answered that.

Maybe it's just your rugae? Have you had peanut butter recently?
