After having a total hysterectomy in August last year at 36, I started on a small dose of HRT. My HRT is one of the newer types, Livial (Tibolone), which is a substance that the body breaks down to make hormones to make up for those lost. Since that time I have suffered from anxiety, pa's and periods of agoraphobia.

Yesterday I saw my gynae consultant - who specialises in HRT - for an update. It was her opinion that the dose of HRT that I had been prescribed, following my op, was far too low for my age. She thinks that it is highly likely that most of my sypmtoms could be caused by a lack of oestrogen and I have been prescribed patches. I had blood tests yesterday and will have more again in 3 months to assess the hormone levels again then.

If any of you are suffering any types of menopausal symptoms, you could ask your GP to have your FSH and LH hormone levels checked by having a simple blood test. Don't forget you do not have to be OLD to start the menopause. Also remember taking HRT, if applicable only replaces the hormones that your body now lacks!

I post this not to imply that this could be a cure for you all, but it is something that you may wish to consider. Just hope that if even one lady finds help by looking into this, then I would be happy!!

I will let you know how I get on with my patches and would love to hear from others who may think that this could help them!!
