    any other lady had this?

    hiya,
can anyone shed some light for me ?
can being on medication for anxiety effect your periods?
i am currently on prothiaden and 2 weeks ago i was upped from 75mg to 100mg.
tomorrow i am 2 weeks late with period. i have done 2 pregnancy tests and both were negative.

can it be caused by my meds, or will it be from something more sinister?

i am stressing about it a little and i no that dosn't help, but i am usual pretty regular.

any help or advice would b greatful

    all the best

I would check the info that comes with the meds you are taking, and the info with any oral contraceptives you may be taking, as different drugs can have an effect. if you still have concerns, get a doctors appointment asap.
try to stay calm, its unlikely that two tests are wrong as long as you followed the directions, you would thing peeing on a stick would be easy!

My period stopped for 3 months and returned when I was much more relaxed. Could be the anxiety holding them back!

    hi,
thanks phoenix and sam for your input and advice. i went to see my g.p and he gave me a urine test. that was negative for pregnancy, but i did have an infection. he gave me some med and finally my period has come.
i think stressing about it didn't help, but i feel much better for reading your responses and going to see my doc.

    once again thanks.

    Hi

It could be anxiety related, my periods where never regular until i got into the routine of my medication, best checking with your GP though.

    Love
