    Hi,

Welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear about your situation at the moment, it's never nice to be suffering with anxiety. I hope you'll find the support you need here.

On a side note, if you are finding that you feel like a zombie on your current medication, consider seeing your GP and talking about it. It may be that the medication you've been given isn't ideal for you and another might work better. I'd also suggest asking for a referral to a psychologist/psychiatrist who is more specialised in dealing with anxiety than a GP. This isn't to say that GPs are bad, it just helps sometimes to combine medical treatment from GPs with helth services and counselling from mental health professionals.

    Welcome again and good luck!

Thanks for your reply im currently on mirtazapine 15mg and for the past month. I was previously on citalopram which didn't work at all as for counselling I did some cbts a year or so ago and it did work for a while. But getting to see someone now is an issue as there's a 6week wait. Just feel like sometimes my gp just wants me to leave I feel like a hypochondriac.

Welcome to the forum Kevin. Like a previous poster said, you might need a different antidepressant but one month in is still early days. You might try to ride out the symptoms for awhile. It is really difficult to separate the symptoms of anxiety/depression from the side effects of antidepressants at times.
As for CBT, there are several good free, online CBT courses that you could use. One of them has helped me quite a bit. The key for CBT to work if for you to practice it several times daily until it becomes second nature. Then your brain can be retrained to think in a rational and positive manner.
Good luck on your journey. Im sure you will find a great deal of support on NMP. I know that I have.
