How long for increase to take effect

I would appreciate thoughts from others on how long an increase in dosage takes to have effect. After 8 weeks on 20mg Prozac I increased to 40mg just over 3 weeks ago as the 20mg didn't seem to have much effect. I can't say I've noticed any improvement. Should I give it longer or should it be working by now? Any advice would be appreciated.

I should say - 6 weeks if you are lucky.
