2 weeks on setraline

Hi everyone

I'm looking for some advice please. I've read on nhs and other websites that I should start seeing benefits with setraline within one to two weeks. I'm on day 13 of taking them and haven't seen any improvement yet.

Is it likely to take longer than this?

Hi Conor,
The first time I took sertraline it took me a good 3 weeks before I could see any improvements. There is no rule, everyone react differently. Doctors say give it 4 to 6 weeks to see if you feel better. What is your dosage ?

Thanks for replying Helena. I'm currently on 50mg which I think is the normal dose.

Yes many start at 50mg. 13 days is still early but you should start having better moments and better days very soon. Each day is a won battle, that is how I was taking it at the beginning !

I am day 7 and my doctor said that other people will see improvements before I do, maybe that's the same for you? Perhaps others around have noticed little things. I think it's very subtle. The first few days I was horrendous. But people are telling me they see improvements, I just can't see them myself because I am looking for massive ones if that makes sense. It's the little things.

try taking benadryl or a piriton just before bedtime

I was on 50mg it was not working for me ,went back to the doctors he upped it to 100 feel loads better but it took me about twelve weeks before I felt alot better x
