So I'm having a 24 hour ecg done next week.but what I have been pushing for is a stress test but there not going to do one. Now my question is. If I did some exercise while hooked up to the ecg. Would it be equal to having a stress test

Not really no as when they do the stress test they check your BP and pulse too

As Nic is saying, there are other things they monitor and there several types of stress tests depending on the situation.
