can someone please explain P.T.S.D to me??


Is this an example of it... when i was 3 my dad left me and my brother in the car for 5 minutes while he went into a shop... i was sick.... he came out and made the BIGGEST fuss about it and he told me off. Ever since then my sickness phobia has been apparant.

I would be grateful if someone could explain it to me. Thankyou x

Hi Helen!
Sadly, I can't explain the P.T.S.D 'cos I am not quite sure what it is.
In 2001 I've lost 2 dear members of my family. Since then I'm soooooo afraid of dying.
So, anyone? Is this P.T.S.D??

The symptoms are of panic attacks but include flashbacks too and are in response to cues that trigger memories of the traumatic event .

It doesnt sound like Post traumatic Stress Disorder but just a reaction to what hapenned when you were young. In a way you are lucky as if you can pinpoint when a phobia started it is easier to treat. Most of us have no idea why we feel a certain way.........

yeah, it was extremely hsrd to pinpoint it i have to say. I went to see a counsellor when i was 12 and he helped me think of when my phobia started. It is scary to thik that i have been afraid of one simple thing for over 15 years though- virtually all my life :(
