I was and still am considering getting this phone as my next upgrade, but I came to know that it has a built in HR monitor...
Now I'm in two minds whether to get it or not, do I really want a HR monitor so accessible in my pocket? haha

You can download apps for most smartphones that measure your heart rate that uses the camera and light on your phone. But if it's too big a temptation then I think we both know the answer to that.

ERB 14/01/2016 Forever missed, forever in our hearts, my baby angel girl
Yeah that's what I started thinking.. because I've tried it on my current phone.
Ordered the phone :P if I stop buying things due to my anxiety, then I may as well admit defeat now which I won't do! :P
Nowt wrong with a new phone ... it could be alot of fun......but YOU must decide to choose in favour of apps that will benefit you and from the outset say a firm NO to any that will lead you back onto the slippery slope. You decide. Take control.
Out of interest, I really enjoy knowing what my heart rate is when I exercise as I enjoy the challenge of pushing myself. I loved it at the gym as I could use it to help me be aware of my body and it's limits. For me it would be an interesting app to have but only in relation to exercise and not anything else.
its interesting how we all vary. I don't have heart worries, maybe that comes from finding it an interesting thing rather than a worry. Oh on a lighter note....I am hopeless at getting a resting pulse rate because the moment I think about it, it would speed up anyway.
Thing is these days, if you have an iPhone or android mobile you could get all sorts of apps but as I say you'd need to exercise self-control if u upgrade. :-)
There are good ones tho like having a pedometer. I've thought about that ... I am sire there would be Things u could find that would be positive and interesting at the same time but wouldn't become an obsession. They could have nothing to do with health but may be fun & enjoyable.
That's true, I'm a little like you in the fact that I like to see my HR when I'm working out, especially when doing cardio workouts or high intensity.
I also enjoy pushing my body to the limit which isn't always a good idea when you've got health anxiety, or heart anxiety in my case, for example when on the elliptical I got my HR to 186 and thought maybe I should stop there before I faint lol.
I guess you literally have to go at it with a clear mind i.e don't think about nothing else and not to even think once about anxiety, otherwise it could ruin your day very quickly
