    Re: Happy story!

    Hi Rennie,

I get the electric shocks, but it's a little different for me. I usually take my dose close to bedtime (so it will still be strong at wake-up time, when I'm not at my best). If I fall asleep immediately, all is well. If not, after a time, maybe half-an-hour, the jolts start, roughly three per minute. This can go on for quite a while - maybe another half hour. They're not painful, but they cause my muscles, particularly in my feet and legs, to contract with a jerk.

I just tell myself "Lie back and enjoy the show". When it stops, I usually feel quite relaxed, and I fall asleep. I've been taking mirtazapine for several years, and this side-effect has been quite consistent.

I'm thinking of quitting my medication cold turkey and going the herbal route
